Six Days in February

Here's another week in my life in February.
On the 18th, I indulged a little during my break. I'd been craving foyo for weeks and I finally enjoyed a cup with a good book on my Kindle.
Nothing too excited went down on the 19th, but I couldn't help but share sweet little Madison being lazy on the coffee table.
I had the BEST day on the 20th. My mr and I made Star Wars pancakes, lounged around and took a trip to the vineyard for some wine tasting and unwinding.
The 21st was a lazy day. I worked, but settled down with a good book before turning out the lights.
The weather has been interesting in ATX. On the 22nd, I wore shorts, but it was cloudy and grey outside. Reni and I took some time out to enjoy the day.
I had the day off on the 23rd. I was productive around the apartment, but lazy through out the day. I went to the gym around 5pm, and since I hadn't put any makeup on all day, I thought I'd put on a sweet stach.

It was definitely a relaxing week. I've tried to focus on breathing and enjoying life this week. I've escaped the flu that's been going around so it seems to be working. Hope you're all having a wonderful week too!

A Relaxing Day

Today was a beautiful day--the weather, the events, just generally all around awesome.

I got to sleep in, it's what I do best on my days off. For breakfast, the mr brought pancake mix over, and we made Star Wars shaped pancakes for breakfast. Turns out he loved the valentines gift I got him. By the second batch of pancakes they were looking professional. Yoda, Vader and the storm trooper were delicious.

It was much needed alone time. While we ate, we watched some animal hoarding and laid with the cats for a few hours. The doors and windows were open and a cool breeze was coming in. Much too perfect.

After lounging, we took a beautiful drive to the Driftwood Vineyard. We're members at the vineyard and had some wine to pick up. We couldn't have picked a better day to do so. The vineyard had a few new wines, so we had to do some tasting. We ended up sharing a bottle of orange muscat and I had brought some cheese and crackers to snack on.

I ended the evening with some Desperate Housewives. I couldn't help but be thankful for all the wonderful little blessings I was given.

Another day in February

Here's to my project 334 and to another beautiful day in February.
10th. I celebrated my handsome BFG's bday. He turned 23, and we went to Rain to celebrate. I LOVE photobooths and we had to seize the opportunity. It was a gay-filled night.
11th. I worked 7 days straight and got a three day weekend so I went to Houston. This is little miss Amelia being super adorable on the sheep skin rugs.
12th. As I posted in my last blog, my pops and Donna bought me a pretty pretty watch. I just had to show it off again.
13th. My trip had to come to an end. The boys were sad to see me leave...not really, they just wanted to go outside on such a pretty day.
14th. Valentines day! My mr. took me to dinner at Vivo (my favorite texmex restaurant) and we (I) had a couple cucumber margaritas. Oh so good!
15th. It was a gorgeous 78 degrees in Austin, and weather like that warrants shorts! My pasty legs needed sun so I had lunch outside.
16th. My mr. had ordered me a wooden watch for my valentines present. It finally arrived, but it was four links too large. I thought it'd be a great idea to fix it myself--with a knife--not the best of ideas, obviously.
17th. I started my day off today with coffee and conversation at Mozart's with me beautiful friend, Jesse. The view is always so gorgeous, but the company was better.

I went shopping

After working a seven day stretch, I was rewarded with a three day weekend. It was totally worth the hard work! And I couldn't think of a better way to spend my mini vacation than to visit my family in Houston. I hadn't been home since summer last year and hadn't seen my family since christmas, so I was super excited.

My dad got back from Australia the night before and was a bit jet lagged, so we spent Friday night being lazy and watching tv. Dad, Donna and I had dinner and a couple glasses of wine by the fire place. I ended the night watching a couple episodes of Desperate Housewives (my new obsession). What a relaxing night.

Today was a pretty sweet day. I slept in--and as you know, I love sleeping in. When I finally woke up, we had brunch and watched Red, with Bruce Willis. It was a really good movie by the way, definitely watch it.

For our first outing of the day, we went to Todai for all you can eat sushi. It was a late lunch, early dinner, and we definitely had all we could eat.

Everyone knows the best way to work off a large meal is shopping. So we headed to the Galleria, the best place to do such a thing. First stop was Urban Outfitters. I spotted a super cute grey pleated pencil skirt. Had to have it. So I bought it. Dad ended up buying a Chuck Norris-ism book (he's too cool--dad, not Chuck)

Next stop was Fossil. I've had my eye on a Fossil watch for awhile now. They're so beautiful and big! But I wasn't sure if I would get it for my bday, and the one in Austin is closed, so I planned on getting it for myself to save anyone the trouble of ordering online. Dad and Donna had a different plan though. They both found a snazzy watch they couldn't live with out, and thought I should have one too! They bought me my (early) birthday present, and it's amazing! I may sleep with it on tonight cause I don't want to take it off.

I can never leave that mall without stopping by Gilly Hicks for some pretty unmentionables. I typically spend more than I plan there, but this time, it was an inexpensive trip, and I left with some lovely items.

Out last stop for the night was to Sonoma Williams. Donna needed to exchange a pot she got. Whilst perusing the store, I came across an adorable valentines gift for Phillip. He's kind of a Star Wars fan (not a crazy obsessed fan, he just owned all the toys and space ships as a kid), and he loves making breakfast. So, perfect gift idea: Yoda, Darth Vader and storm trooper pancake cutters and a Darth Vader spatula. I'm such an awesome girlfriend and a smooth thinker. Getting the bf breakfast making item will ensure he will be making me some breakfast in the near future. Win win.

February week 1

I know it's been a few weeks since I've posted anything. I'm sorry! But I've been over worked and had a lack of sleep. I was forced to work 12 hour days due to the lack of managers at work. It's been a loooong two weeks. But I managed to still take photos daily.

Last year I did Project 365. It was a photo diary of the my whole year. I wanted to do it again this year, but I know I missed the whole month of January, so I'm doing Project 334.

1. I finally put up decorations in my living room. I loved these photos, and I got the idea of clothes pinning them up from my sister.
2. During this "arctic freeze" I've been keeping warm at night with leggings and my favorite slippers. There's nothing like changing into pjs after a long day at work.
3. This was my first day off in Feb. and also my last day off for a week. Instead of cooking dinner, the mr and I got chinese takeout. Fortune cookie time came around and I got no fortune. I didn't know if I should take that as a sign...
4. Friday was the first time Austin saw snow this winter! It was a huge ordeal. I woke up around 1am and ran out in pjs to take photos of it. The girls didn't like the cold, but looked super cute with snowflakes on them.
5. Reni has been a such a cuddle bug since it started getting cold. She'll curl up on my lap and pass out.
6. This Super bowl sunday was memorable one--Glee premiered!
7. After work on Monday I had to go to the other mall to pick up some things for my store. I also had to take a detour to my favorite store, Forever 21, and I had to buy a couple shirts. I had to.
8. I got done with work at 10ish, and all I wanted to do was curl up with one of my cats and sleep. Madison was nice enough to assist me in that task.
9. We got another cold front in Austin. Roads froze, the mall closed early. It was another chaotic day.

So that was my first week of February. Nothing too exciting, but enjoyable nonetheless. More to come!
